The Breede Valley Municipality is offering Learnership Programme for 2018 in .The aim is to provide individuals with the opportunity to secure a skill within a specific trade and enhance employability within the local community. The duration of this Learnership is 12 months. The focus area is Skills Development within selected qualifications that will ensure opportunities for individuals wanting to enhance the training.

Field of Studies
- Roadworks Level 3 (SAQA ID 24173):
This qualification is for persons who work or intend to work within roadwork construction. It is assumed that learners are already competent in Communication and Mathematical Literacy at NQF Level 1.
- Learners with a pass in Grade 9
- Mathematical Literacy Grade 9
- Communication (Language) Grade 9
2. Welding Level 2 (SAQA ID 57886):
This qualification is for learners wanting to follow a career in welding. It is assumed that learners are already competent in Communication and Mathematical Literacy at NQF Level 1.
- Learners with a pass in Grade 9
- Mathematical Literacy Grade 9
- Communication (Language) Grade 9
3. Painting Level 3 (SAQA ID 65490):
This qualification is a sub-held of construction and is for persons who want to work or intend to work within a construction context on or o site. It is assumed that learners are already competent in Communication and Mathematical Literacy at NQF Level 2.
Minimum Criteria to enter this qualification:
- Learners with a pass in Grade 10
- Mathematical Literacy Grade 10
- Communication (Language) Grade 10
Additional minimum requirements:
- Applicants must reside within the area of the Breede Valley Municipality (Worcester, De Doorns, Rawsonville, Touws River)
- Only persons between the age groups of 18-25 will be considered.
- Attention to detail.
- Proficiency in two of the official languages in the Western Cape.
