Assmang Black Rock Mine and Ga-Segonyana Municipality invites South African students to apply for Bursary Programme 2025.

Assmang Black Rock Mine Operations, in partnership with Ga-Segonyana Local Municipality, is offering a bursary opportunity for students from the Ga-Segonyana Local Municipality area. This is a fantastic chance to receive financial support for your full-time studies at an accredited South African University or University of Technology.

- B Com in Accounting/Economics/Law/Human Resources/Business Management
- BA in Public Admin/Journalism/Communication/Industrial and Organizational Psychology
- Bachelor of Social Science/Social Work
- Bachelor in Education
- LLB
- BSC Actuarial Science
- BSc Engineering/Geology/Quantity Survey/Agriculture/Architecture/Computer Science
- Bachelor of Pharmacy
- Bachelor of Nursing
- MBChB
- Town and Regional Planning
Who Can Apply?
To be eligible for this bursary, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- South African citizen in terms of the South African Citizenship Act, No 88 of 1995.
- Reside within the Ga-Segonyana Local Municipality area.
- Matric scholars who meet the minimum entry requirements.
- Age: Between 18 and 35 years.
- Students in their 1st, 2nd, or final year of study.
- No existing bursary or student loan.
- Students who are historically disadvantaged and financially in need.
Selection Criteria
Applicants must meet the following academic and selection criteria:
- Science-related fields: Must have Mathematics and Physical Science at level 5 or above (Grade 12).
- Other fields of study: Must have a 60% average in Grade 12 academic achievements.
- Preference will be given to designated groups (historically disadvantaged students).
- Means test: Consideration will be given to applicants who meet the financial needs test.
Required Supporting Documentation
Ensure your application includes the following documents:
- Proof of acceptance from a University or University of Technology for the 2025 academic year.
- Certified copy of your ID document.
- An Affidavit confirming certified copies of parent’s proof of income, social grant, or pension grant.
- Certified copy of Grade 12 results.
- Certified copy of full academic record (for current university students).
- Proof of admission from the tertiary institution (University or University of Technology).
- Proof of residence in the Ga-Segonyana Local Municipality area.
