Your Role as a Chemistry Graduate

Step into the future of mining with an exciting opportunity to apply your chemistry knowledge across the Platinum value chain. In this role, you will gain hands-on experience in key areas such as analytical chemistry, laboratory management, quality control, and material characterisation.

You’ll have the opportunity to learn and work with advanced analytical techniques and instruments specific to PGM chemistry, gaining skills in areas like spectroscopy, and water analysis. Collaborating with industry experts, you’ll support the testing and analysis of samples, contribute to research and development projects, and ensure compliance with environmental and safety standards. This immersive three-year program includes rotations across multiple sites, offering exposure to various aspects of the mining process, including mineral analysis.

Qualifications:

To qualify for the Anglo American Platinum Graduate Programme, you must:

  • Have completed Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Chemistry/Applied Chemistry.
  • Have completed your degree within the last 2 years or are due to graduate by December 2024. 
  • Have no more than 12 months post qualification completion, work experience.
  • Be a team player with strong leadership potential. 
  • Demonstrate drive, ambition, and a passion for challenging work in our operations. 
  • Must be willing and able to work in remote areas, with relocation support provided where necessary.
