Amazon Web Services: Bursaries 2022

Amazon Web Services invites qualifying student to apply for Bursary Programme 2022 academic year.

Bursary Application Closing Date: 30 September 2021

Amazon Web Services Bursary offers full cost bursaries to students who aim to study full time towards an undergraduate degree in Commerce, Business Science, Engineering, Computer Science and Information Technology. These degrees represent fields of relevance to the technology sector. Bursaries are awarded on the basis of merit and financial need and for studies at select South African universities.

Applications for the Amazon Web Services Bursary are now open for 2022.

The Amazon Web Services Bursary considers undergraduate and postgraduate studies in public universities across South Africa. The bursary is also highly considering students with a disability.

Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying:

  • South African citizen
  • Strong academic and leadership potential
  • Achieved a minimum result of 75% for Mathematics and English in Matric
  • Achieved an overall average above 65% at Tertiary.

Only the following programmes will be funded:

Undergraduate Degree programmes:

  • Computer Science / Engineering and Information Technology,
  • Bachelor of Commerce (specialising in Accounting and Finance),
  • Electrical / Mechanical / Mechatronics, Civil Engineering.

Year level: First to final year students.

Postgraduate Degree Programmes:

  • Honours and Masters Degree in:
  • Computer Science / Engineering and Information Technology,
  • Bachelor of Commerce (specialising in Accounting and Finance),
  • Electrical / Mechanical/ Mechatronics, Civil Engineering.

People with Disability

Undergraduate and postgraduate degree in all study Programmes.

  • Applications must be completed on StudyTrust’s online Xhuma (WhatsApp) platform before 30 September to be considered for a bursary for next year.

The Amazon Web Services Bursary will cover the costs (capped) of the following:

  • tuition
  • residence / private accommodation
  • subsistence
  • stationery and books
  • a personal computer
  • transport.
