The Alfred Nzo District Municipality has announced its bursary programme for the 2024 academic year, inviting eligible students residing within the Alfred Nzo municipal area (Eastern Cape) to apply. Here are the details:
Program Overview:
- Bursaries will be awarded for studies in scarce and critical skills fields, within various disciplines including Community Water Services, Disaster Management, Environmental Science, ICT, Engineering, and more.
Available Bursaries:
The bursaries are available for studies in the following fields:
- Community Water Services and Sanitation (BSc)
- Disaster Management (National Diploma/Degree)
- Environmental and Water Science (BSc)
- Geographic Information System (National Diploma/Degree)
- Graphic Art/Design (National Diploma/Degree)
- Information Communication Technology (ICT) (National Diploma)
- Maritime Engineering (National Diploma)
- Mechanical Engineering (National Diploma/Degree)
- Water and Science Technology (National Diploma)
- Water Resource Management (BSc)
Eligibility Criteria:
To be eligible for the bursary, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
- South African citizenship
- Residency within the Alfred Nzo jurisdiction area, Eastern Cape
- Age between 16 and 35 years old
- Completed Matric
- Intention to pursue a qualification in one of the specified fields in 2024 at a recognized South African tertiary institution
- Strong academic performance
- Demonstrated financial need, with preference given to disadvantaged students

- Application forms are available at ANDM offices, local municipalities within specific regions, and Ward Councilors.

- Submit certified copies of required documentation along with the application form.
- Send applications via post to the Senior Manager Corporate Services at the Alfred Nzo District Municipality.

- Certified proof of acceptance to a recognized tertiary institution
- Proof of residence from your Ward Councillor
