Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS1.Undergraduate degree in brand communication, graphic design, visual communication or a closely related field
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE
1.No required previous work experience for this position, but a strong portfolio and evidence of initiative regarding freelance or part-time work in visual and/or written communication will be an advantage.
ADVANTAGEOUS
2.Matric level physical science and biology is an advantage
3.Previous experience working in SharePoint is an advantage
4.Previous experience using a CMS is an advantage
5.A driver’s license is an advantage
6.An interest in or demonstrated experience of Science Communication is an advantage
SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
1.Advanced competency in InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Premiere Pro (or similar)
2.Visual literacy
3.Strong storytelling and research skills
4.Photography skills
5.Video skills (from concept to filming to editing and post production)
6.Strong spoken and written English ability
7.Ability to take initiative and work independently
8.Flexibility
9.Strong interpersonal communication skills
