Job Description:
- Complete apprenticeship program with both theoretical and practical experience.
- Involved in the servicing, repair, and installation of various electrical equipment.
- Conduct maintenance work on electrical equipment, including testing malfunctioning equipment, identifying defects, troubleshooting, repairing equipment, and replacing defective parts.
- Assist with new and upgraded installations of building electrical wiring and AC 3-phase motors.
- Occasionally perform miscellaneous legal ad hoc tasks as instructed by the Electrician or Maintenance Team Leader.
- Ensure adherence to quality standards, rules, and regulations.
- Assist with breakdown maintenance of electrical equipment.
- Assist with testing and commissioning of electrical and mechanical equipment.
- Utilize electrical testing equipment and power tools.
- Ensure accurate and honest reporting of incidents, near misses, and safety hazards.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum education Grade 12 with a post-matric qualification (N3 Electrical).
- Basic awareness of SANS 10142 wiring code.
- Awareness of Merseta apprenticeship requirements.
- Must be computer literate.
- Basic awareness of OHSAct.
- Good report writing skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as within a team and be deadline-driven.
