What You Will Learn and Do
As an Apprentice Instrument Mechanician, you will:
- Acquire trade-specific knowledge and skills
- Participate in a formal training plan and assessments
- Maintain and repair instrumentation and plant equipment under supervision
- Work with SCADA and DCS systems
- Conduct testing, commissioning, and installations
- Learn industrial cable reticulation and circuit installations
- Use power and hand tools efficiently
- Follow safety, health, and environmental protocols
- Keep and present a training logbook as required
This role provides valuable experience in a chemical plant environment, with structured guidance from experienced artisans and technicians.
Minimum Requirements

- Grade 12 (Matric) with Mathematics and Physical Science
- N3 qualification (compulsory for Trade Test registration)
