This rural municipality has a population of over 270,000 residents, spanning more than 2000 square kilometers. The municipality’s main language is Sepedi, and it is known for its traditional land ownership. The municipality is named “Makhuduthamaga,” which refers to the executives or leaders of the Fetakgomo movement from the 1950s.

About the Bursary Programme

The Makhuduthamaga Local Municipality is offering a bursary for undergraduate studies in 2025. The bursary is open to students who reside within the municipality’s jurisdiction in Limpopo, and will support studies in the following fields:

3. Civil Engineering
4. Economics
5. Environmental Science
6. Mechanical Engineering
7. Mining Engineering
8. Regional and Town Planning
9. Waste Management

A total budget of R3 million has been allocated for external bursaries, prioritizing students from financially disadvantaged backgrounds.

Eligibility Requirements

• Financial need
