The VESTAS Scholarships 2025 for Black Women in STEM

VESTAS is inviting students from South Africa to apply for the Scholarship for the 2025 academic year.

Scholarship Coverage and Partner Institutions

VESTAS is partnering with Tshikululu Social Investments, a firm renowned for managing social investment funds effectively. The scholarship is open for undergraduate studies in the following fields:

  • Electrical Engineering (Degree/Diploma)
  • Mechanical Engineering (Degree)
  • Mechatronic Engineering (Degree/Higher Certificate)

Eligible students will have the opportunity to study at premier South African institutions such as:

  • University of Cape Town
  • Nelson Mandela University
  • Boland College

Who Can Apply? Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for the VESTAS Scholarship, applicants must meet these criteria:

  • Be a South African citizen
  • Identify as Black (as defined by the B-BBEE Code of Conduct: Black, Coloured, or Indian)
  • Be a female from a disadvantaged background
  • Currently be in Matric or have completed it
  • Intend to study or already be pursuing a qualification in the wind renewable energy sector
  • Have provisional acceptance or current enrollment at one of the listed partner institutions
  • Achieve a minimum of 60% average in Matric or current tertiary studies
  • Not be receiving funding from other bursaries or NSFAS

How to apply

There is no formal application form for the VESTAS Scholarship. To apply, send an email to vestas@tshikululu.org.za with the subject line “VESTAS Scholarship 2025”. Include the following documents in your application:

  • Certified copy of your ID
  • Latest Matric results or certificate
  • Provisional acceptance letter if in Matric
  • Most recent academic record if already studying

Ensure your 2024 year-end results and final acceptance letter reach the provided email by the deadline to complete your application.
