SANParks is recruiting Handyman
SANParks is inviting applications for the position of Handyman.
Location: Table Mountain National Park, Western Cape
Closing Date: 30 September 2024
Requirements:
- Grade 12
- A Trade Certificate in Electrical, Aircon, Refrigeration, Plumbing, Carpentry, or related field (advantageous)
- Code 10 driver’s license with PDP
- A minimum of three (3) years practical experience in a technical/maintenance field
- Basic knowledge of building maintenance, plumbing, carpentry, and equipment repairs
- Extensive working knowledge of electrical maintenance (advantageous)
- Working knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Basic administrative skills
- Ability to work under pressure and in unfavorable conditions
- Willingness to work on weekends and public holidays
- Candidates will be required to conduct a practical assessment
Responsibilities:
- Perform semi-skilled maintenance tasks such as plumbing, welding, air conditioner and refrigerator repairs, electrical work, and civil works to required quality standards
- Conduct routine maintenance of tourist buildings, staff accommodations, ablution blocks, electrical systems, and other infrastructure services
- Record daily maintenance activities and future maintenance needs
- Transport equipment, materials, and staff while inspecting vehicles
- Assist with planning, scheduling, and executing technical tasks
- Manage stock, assist with supply chain processes, and maintain inventory records
- Carry out basic housekeeping and other tasks as assigned by the supervisor
- Assist with general administrative tasks
Salary:
R137,509.70 – R188,179.21 (Paterson Grade B2)
