Johannesburg City Parks: Work Integrated & Horticulture Learnerships 2018

Johannesburg City Parks and ZOO invites candidates to apply for Work Integrated Learnership and Horticulture Learnership Programme for 2018 in Gauteng. Candidates will be based on various Johannesburg City Parks and ZOO facilities. The duration of this Internships is 12 months. Successful candidates will receive a monthly stipends of R2500 during their placement. Applicants must resides in Johannesburg Region and be between the ages of 18-30 years. People with disabilities and FET graduates are encouraged to apply.

Work intergarted Learning Programme (20 Positions)

Horticulture Learnership (30 Positions)

Applicants must have grade 12 and be able to do the following duties

  • Health and safety in horticultural environment
  • Identification of plants Cultivation and care for ornamental plants
  • Condition and prepare soils for planting
  • Soil science
  • Use of fertilizers on plants
  • Chemical and mechanical removal of weeds and alien invasive plants
  • Mixing and application of herbicides and pesticides
  • Laying and maintenance of grass sods
  • Mowing lawns
  • Pruning of plants
