Robben-Island Museum: Internships 2017 / 2018 in Cape Town
The Robben-Island Museum invites applications for x3 Research Internships / graduates positions currently available within its HERITAGE Department in Cape Town. The purpose of the opportunity is to assist the Research Unit with activities related to researching Robben Island’s history and context.

Requirements
- Degree with specialization in either Social Studies, History, Archaeology or Post Graduate Diploma in Museum and Heritage Studies. Honours degree would be an advantage
Technical skill/Knowledge:
- Drivers Licence (code 08)
- Fluency in 2 official languages
- Proficient in computer packages
- Broad understanding of South Africa’s political history
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in historical research on Robben Island including gathering and analysis of information, conducting interviews and arranging site visits
- Administer and update the research databases including capturing of data, scanning of documents and verifying information
- Occasionally conduct Robben Island layered history in various archives/libraries to help with the narrative and interpretations
- Transcribing of the recorded interviews and logging of the recorded interviews
- General administration and correspondence
