South African Revenue Service (SARS) is offering 12 Chartered Accountant Traineeship vacancies to unemployed candidates.

Requirements :

The minimum entry requirements for trainees are a B.Com Hons (Accounting) and a Certificate in Theory of Accounting (CTA)/ Graduate Diploma in Accounting (GDA) or equivalent post graduate qualification. This qualification must be sufficient to be allowed entry to the SAICA QE1 Board examination.

The SARS CA Training Programme is a SAICA accredited training programme developed to give specialised training to increase the pool of professionals and to allow them to qualify as Chartered Accountants CA(SA).

To enhance learning and development it ensures that trainees are given exposure to a business environment providing them with the skills exposure and knowledge to become competent professionals.The programme equips its trainees with the necessary skills by ensuring:

  • access to on-going professional development,
  • interaction with executives and senior managers,
  • access to  subject matter experts and mentors to assist in their personal development,
  • rotation within the various business units at SARS to gain exposure to a wide range of tax subjects.

SARS offers trainees the added advantage of cutting edge exposure to Taxation. It ensures that the trainees’ experience will help broaden their skills acquisition and business acumen to successfully complete their training programme and obtain the prestigious CA (SA) qualification.
